Your task is to demonstrate your understanding of the structure of society in the Iroquois Confederacy through dramatic exploration. Be sure to include your understanding of different roles, duties, clans, and overall political structure as you convey life as part of the Iroquois Confederacy.

Step 1:

Research your assigned role. Consider starting from the resources provided in task 1.

Keep a list of notes and ideas that address:

-your role in society (based on your age, gender, and clan)

-who you interact with the most

-what you do with your time

    -how others might view you

Step 2:

Meet with your group, develop your story.

   -Brainstorm.

-How can you address the task and demonstrate a Mastery level of understanding?

-What story/situation could you create in order to demonstrate your understanding of

society roles, clans, duties, and political structure? Will it be a special event, or a daily

interaction? How will everyone in the group be able to showcase their character?

-Create a storyboard to outline each key scene in your dramatization.

-Present storyboard to your teacher for approval before moving on to next step.

Step 3:

Write a script. Consult with your teacher.

Step 4:

Plan supporting details: costumes and props/artifacts. Can you collaborate with other groups to share artifacts? What will people wear - all blacks or tans (to be neutral), special costume pieces, or a mix of both? How can you help bring your audience to your scene in a more authentic way?
